The Subversion of Medicine and Public Health by International Security Prerogatives

The publication of this article, which contains forbidden fruit, is preceded by five years of struggle against the multiple walls of deception, dishonesty and oppression erected by colluding governments to preserve an international order that keeps peace between nations by committing genocide within nations.

Having challenged the matrix of control that the covert depopulation and overt globalization axis represents, the authorities have imprisoned me seven times, have kept me nearly one year behind bars, have forcibly separated me from my wife and children for more than four years now, have destroyed my career and economic wellbeing, have deprived me of every material possession I have ever had, and have forced me to go to extraordinary and unprecedented lengths to defend my credibility and freedom. The Unprecedented Growth in Medical Admissions in the UK: The Ageing Population or a Possible Infectious/Immune Aetiology?

In the UK it is common to hear the statement that it is the increasing elderly population, exacerbated by workforce issues, which are putting strain on the National Health Service (NHS).

Statements to this effect are repeated so often that it has almost become heresy to suggest that anything other than this may be a fundamental cause of the increasing pressures. This short review is designed to highlight the past trends in admissions and to investigate if an infectious aetiology could be implicated as a primary cause, with societal, health and social care, and workforce factors being contributory rather than causative per se. Both raw and age standardised growth will be examined to see how each sheds light on the underlying issues. Read More>>>>>>>>>

Use of LAB to Control Urogenital Infections

A urinary tract infection (UTI) is an infection that affects part of the urinary tract. When it affects the lower urinary tract, it is known as a simple cystitis (a bladder infection) and when it affects the upper urinary tract, it is known as pyelonephritis (a kidney infection).

The indigenous microbiota plays an important role in protecting the host from colonization of invading pathogens. Lactobacillus is the predominant genus in the vaginal and endocervical microbial communities  and is present at concentrations of 107 to 108 CFU/ml of vaginal fluid in healthy postmenopausal/ premenopausal women. There is an emerging role of lactobacilli in the control and maintenance of the vaginal bacterial microflora. Read More>>>>>

Microarrays-Enabled Hypothesis Generation: The Suspect Role of FNBP-1 in Neuropsychiatric Pathogenesis Associated with HIV and/or HCVInfection

Of 40 million people living worldwide with a Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV) infection approximately 2.3 million are chronically co-infected with the Hepatitis C Virus (HCV).

HIV/ HCV co-infected patients demonstrate higher rates of neuropsychiatric illness (NI, such as generalized anxiety disorder, dysthymia, panic disorder, major depression and substance abuse disorder) relative to HIV mono-infected subjects or the general population. In previous research, we identified gene expression profiles significantly modulated in HIV/HCV co-infected patients who experienced pegylated interferon-α (PegIFN-α)-induced NI and were able to characterize the unique role of Interferon-stimulated-exonuclease-gene 20 kDa (ISG20) in linking PegIFN-α-related NI to distinct HCV treatment responses in patients co-infected with HIV and HCV. Stigma of Victims of Sexual Violence ’ s in Armed Conflicts: Another Factor in the Spread of the HIV Epidemic?

Sub-Saharan Africa continues to record the bulk of new people infected with Human immunodeficiency virus/acquired syndrome(HIV/AIDS) UNAIDS estimated that 1.9 million in 2010. This area is also the most affected by armed conflict and sexual violence against women.

According to estimates, 8-10% of people infected by the HIV/AIDS are affected by armed conflict, a humanitarian crisis and a displacement of populations. Over past decades, several African countries have experienced armed conflicts, including Sierra Leone, Rwanda, Uganda, Burundi, The Ivory Coast, Chad, Mali and the Republic Democratic of Congo (DRC). During the Rwanda genocide in 1994, the number of rape victims was estimated between 250.000 and 500.000. Read More>>>>>>>>

A Case of a Potential Drug Interaction between Phenobarbital and Darunavir-based Antiretroviral Therapy

In June 2015 a previously healthy 37-year-old male presented to the hospital for respiratory failure requiring intubation and admission to the intensive care unit. He had a 7-month history of non-productive cough and dyspnea, was diagnosed with Pneumocystis jerovicii pneumonia (PJP) and subsequently tested positive for HIV infection.

His CD4 cell count and viral load at that time were 81 cells/mm3 and 115,526 copies/mL, respectively. He was immediately started on high-dose sulfamethoxazole/trimethoprim for PJP and combination antiretroviral (ARV) therapy with tenofovir/emtricitabine 300/200 mg daily and darunavir 800 mg boosted with ritonavir 100 mg daily for HIV while genotypic resistance testing was pending. As his respiratory status was not improving, he was subsequently switched to pentamidine to complete PJP treatment. Read More>>>>>>>>>>>
